Meet Jim Reed

Jim Reed is running for US Assembly District CA 2

Jim Reed is a third generation Northern Californian. He has a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Cal Berkeley, law degree from San Francisco Law School, and a Master of Science in Taxation from Golden Gate University. Jim currently runs a law practice based in Fall River Mills (about 1.5 hours north of Redding) and manages 10 employees, including his wife, daughter, and brother-in-law (all lawyers in his practice), and a support staff.

Jim is an avid athlete, he has played football, ran track and field, and now enjoys bicycling. Jim was a wide receiver for Cal Berkeley, and now enjoys watching college and pro football. Jim has held his private pilot’s license for 15 years, currently flying a Cessna 172. The Reed family runs an informal animal rescue at their ranch in Fall River Mills, currently caring for rescued llamas, goats, and cats. Jim is a proud Rotarian for over 25 years.

Meet Lathe Gill

Lathe Gill is running for California State Senate District 4

Lathe is the son of a union electrician and a public school teacher, and grew up in San Diego. He graduated from UCLA on a Regent’s Scholarship in 1996 and the University of San Diego in 1999 in Law.

He is married to Caroline A. Gill and they are expecting their fifth child.

Meet Chris Parker

Chris Parker is running for California State Board of Equalization District 2

Chris Parker is a standout Tax Attorney for the California Franchise Tax Board. As a public interest attorney, he represents taxpayers in the prosecution of tax cheats and white collar criminals. Chris Parker has dedicated his career to public service by working tirelessly to hold socially irresponsible corporations and individuals accountable when they try to cheat the system.

The Board of Equalization (BOE) is charged with the responsibility of serving the public through fair, effective and efficient tax administration. Corporations and individuals who get away without paying their fair share end up costing the state billions in lost revenue. Chris Parker has succeeded in bringing forth and winning many cases at the BOE that have resulted in the recovery of millions of dollars to the State’s general fund.
