This Year's Gold Rush Day in Yreka was a complete success for Siskiyou Democrats! Special kudos go to all those who helped man the booth throughout the day: Jo, Brian, Larry, Diann, Cinda, Marshall, Jeff, Harry and JoAn. We got our name out into the community, collected more money thru donations for our HQ, and ended up registering five new Democrats! (every little bit helps)

Wow! Just simply WOW! The Senate, and Rummy too! |
Democratic control of the US House of Representatives and the Senate is more than we dreamed. But now we have to all get busy and retain the inertia by becoming active in our respective communities so that we are prepared for elections in 2007 and 2008.
Please join the Siskiyou Democrats and help us prepare for our future!
Here is what Speaker-elect Pelosi plans to accomplish the first 100 hours. |
WHAT A DAY! |
We won the US House of Representatives in a landslide! Check out these newspaper front page images across the nation. There is a lot of hard work to be done now, but we will savor the opportunity to play a role in correcting the course of the US.
The Senate races in Virginia and Montana (CBS results here) still have to be resolved, and we may still win the Senate as well, but having won the House will really allow us to begin to make sweeping changes and improve life for all Americans, and to correct our image in the world.
At the State level, we have much to celebrate! Debra Bowen won her race for Secretary of State (now we can really make progress on those dang electronic voting machines and bring transparency and honesty to our elections), and anti-environment Richard Pombo has been shown the door. John Garamendi will be our new Lieutenant Governor, John Chiang won his race for California State Controller seat, Lockyer and Brown take over the seats for Treasurer and Attorney General. And finally, the results of the various propositions are listed here.
For Siskiyou County races, the results are here.
Congratulations Democrats - we worked hard, our message was heard, and we won a lot. Now let's get back to work and prepare for 2008!

Good News For Siskiyou County |
|
Blackwell is at it again, and this time it looks a lot like Florida 2000. He purged the voter list, and 3 other states have done it too. Read this, then pass the word!
Note: This story has not only been confirmed by DailyKOS, but callers from Ohio to the Thom Hartmann radio program today (Oct 18) confirmed that the letters mentioned therein have actually been received. Take this story seriously. |
