To support these beliefs, we are offering the second annual one-thousand-dollar ($1000) scholarship to a Siskiyou County high school graduate to be used for education at either a community college, college/university or business/technical/trade school .

WOMEN RUNNING FOR SUHSD BOARD WIN BIG!

As many of you are aware, the California GOP had a goal of overtaking school boards in the state and California Republicans bet big on local board races.

The Siskiyou Union High School District (SUHSD) was one of the districts targeted. As a result of significant non-partisan campaign efforts, the three strong women we supported won there! Thanks to all who knocked on doors, made phone calls, and spread the word. It paid off!

SUPPORTING FIRE VICTIMS

Supporting Fire Victims: On November 21, DCCSC members (l. to r.) Karen Zeigler, Pattie Crossen, and Carolyn Miller presented a $1,000 check to Siskiyou Community Resource Collaborative (SCRC), to support longterm fire relief efforts. Receiving the contribution were (r.) SCRC Board President Ken Palfini and (c.) Program Director Steve Bryan. Here, all pause to enjoy applause from seniors  attending the Monday Senior Lunch, held weekly at the Weed Community Center. Siskiyou Dems regularly serve an average of 65-75 community participants. SCRC coordinates and administers the event, and Weed City provides funds. Thanks to all our Dem donors, who made this donation possible.

SUPPORTING VICTIMS OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE

Supporting Victims of Domestic Violence: Each year, Siskiyou Democrats give personal necessity gift bags to the Siskiyou Domestic Violence and Crisis Center (SDVCC). At left, DCCSC Chair, Alice Rogers (right), presented the gift bags to the SDVCC Director, Carla Charraga, who expressed the center’s gratitude for our support. The Center provides a number of services to the community, including a 24-hour hotline and crisis response, emergency shelter, sexual assault advocacy, counseling and information/referral. If you or someone you know needs assistance, contact the office at 530-842-6629 or toll free at 877-842-4068
