Help Our Food Insecure Neighbors on Saturday, September 23rd!
Hunger in Siskiyou County has not gone away. About one in five children in our Siskiyou
County are food insecure – that is 3.8% higher than the national average. So, there is a lot of need in our community.
To address the needs, we have several food banks within the county we support. We will be conducting another local food collection event in South County in September.
Here are the details:

Over 100 Siskiyou Democrats enjoyed a very successful and fun fundraising picnic at Carrick Park in Weed on Saturday, June 24th. We had set a goal of raising $4000 and ended up making over $6000!
Guests enjoyed live music with Jimmy Limo and guest speakers Angelina Cook who is running for BOS District 1, and Charnna Gilmore from the Scott River Watershed Council. We also congratulated the 2023 DCCSC Annual College Scholarship winner Athena Maniatis!
Some great times meeting with our friends and enjoying a lovely meal with great desserts. Thanks to everyone who attended!
Putting the finishing touches on our booth!
Yes, we did have fun at the Siskiyou Golden Fair, August 7-11. It’s been four years since we were able to
host a booth. We had 25 volunteers working the fair – thanks to all of you!
The theme for this
year’s booth was Democrats Deliver and we presented information on what Biden has
accomplished in his first two years. To highlight just one aspect, a banner was included at the
back of the booth. This is an up-close picture of the banner:
