If are interested in attending any of these protests, we are working on setting up a carpool process so you don't have to go alone! Just CONTACT US and don't forget to include your name and phone number! We'll work on getting people together to drive to the events.
Below is a list of some upcoming local activities where you can be involved! Although the Siskiyou Democrats are not sponsoring all of these events, we wanted to let you know what is happening!

ACLU.ORG'S "KNOW YOUR PROTESTER RIGHTS!" The First Amendment protects your right to assemble and express your views through protest. However, police and other government officials are allowed to place certain narrow restrictions on the exercise of speech rights. Make sure you’re prepared by brushing up on your rights before heading out into the streets.

CANVASSING FOR PROP 50 in SISKIYOU COUNTY
We need more canvassers for the weekends listed below. The best way to counter misinformation is to talk to voters directly. Haven't knocked on doors before? We will be providing training on what you need to do and will pair you with another canvasser (you will not be alone). Many of us have knocked on thousands of doors and can help you! It is fun to talk to neighbors. Here are the dates/times we are walking:
CANVASSING FOR PROP 50 in SISKIYOU COUNTY
Dates: Saturdays and Sundays - September 20/21, October 4/5, October 11/12, October 18/19
Time: Meet at 10am
Locations: Mt. Shasta - Ray's Food Place and Yreka - YMCA
You can just show up at one of these locations to receive training, your assignment and the canvassing literature. We do have these events listed using Mobilize and you can sign up with these links (although not necessary).

Saturday, September 27th, 2025 Annual Siskiyou Democrats Dinner!
Our annual Siskiyou Democrats dinner/fundraiser will be held on Saturday, September 27th at the Sons of Italy Hall in Weed.
We will hear from Sue Hilderbrand, Organizing Manager for the California Democratic Party, and Jim Salegui, Congressional Candidate for District 1.
Enjoy a great dinner of Tri-Tip and Chicken, catered by Smoked Tomato Pie.
There will be a Dessert Dash and a No-Host Beer and Wine Bar.
Come out and meet your fellow democrats, and, bring some friends with you.
This is a fundraiser to support our candidates both locally and beyond, and to help pass the redistricting ballot measure. You will also be supporting our efforts to expand Democracy in Siskiyou County.

DRIVE-THRU Food Collection Drive
The Mt. Shasta Food Drive, held Saturday, September 13, was again a successful event and very much appreciated by the local south county food banks. Over 400 lbs of food was collected!
We have another one coming up in Yreka, so hopefully you will be able to contribute there as well!
