Siskiyou Democrats Rapid Response Bulletin Board and Economic Boycotts

Are you interested in what protests are happening nearby?  Or is there a postcard campaign and you'd like to write a few?  Is there an "action alert" where you need to make phone calls?

Visit our new RAPID RESPONSE BULLETIN BOARD often for up-to-date postings (scroll down for listings). This is a work in progress and depends upon help from all of you to send us information to post.  CONTACT US to let us know about your upcoming pro-democrary activity!

If are interested in attending any of these protests, we are working on setting up a carpool process so you don't have to go alone!  Just CONTACT US and don't forget to include your name and phone number!  We'll work on getting people together to drive to the events.

ACLU.ORG'S "KNOW YOUR PROTESTER RIGHTS!"  The First Amendment protects your right to assemble and express your views through protest. However, police and other government officials are allowed to place certain narrow restrictions on the exercise of speech rights. Make sure you’re prepared by brushing up on your rights before heading out into the streets.

Want to Find Out More? Attend the Siskiyou Democrats Grassroots meetings on Zoom.  They are held the second Tuesday of the month at 6pm.  If you are a registered Democrat and wish to attend, CONTACT US here.

Resist and Unsubscribe

Why Resist and Unsubscribe?

Americans are feeling powerless to thwart the Trump administration’s assault on our nation’s values. Praised by tech CEOs, surrounded by sycophants, and enriched by his return to the White House, the president’s actions march on unchecked. Americans, however, have a powerful weapon that has been hiding in plain sight.

First, we must recognize that the president is unfazed by citizen outrage, the courts, or the media. He responds to one thing: the market. The most potent weapon to resist the administration is a targeted, month-long national economic strike — a coordinated campaign that attacks tech companies and firms enabling ICE  — to inflict maximum damage with minimal impact on consumers. In sum, the shortest path to change without hurting consumers is an economic strike targeted at the companies driving the markets and enabling our president.

Democratic Economic Boycott

download (1).jpeg

Our DCCSC is partnering with the California Democratic Economic Boycott group to promote boycotts of companies supporting Trump's agenda.  The boycott is focused on twelve corporations whose political spending, public influence, or leadership decisions directly strengthen MAGA extremism:

Boycott Focus List:  Spotify • Tesla • X (Twitter) • Amazon • Google • Facebook (Meta) • Home Depot • Papa John’s • Wendy’s • Hobby Lobby • Chick-fil-A • Best Buy

As the Democratic Economic Boycott enters its third month, the current focus of that group is The Home Depot.

Across California, immigration enforcement actions connected to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement have increasingly taken place in parking lots outside Home Depot stores.

For more information, visit their website:  California Democratic Economic Boycott Website
